Purpose of Associate Membership
- The purpose of the Associate Membership in the Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department is to establish a means in which the citizens of the community can contribute their services and talents to further the work of the Department in a personal way other than solely through monetary contributions.
- There are many needed tasks, some occasional, some frequent or even daily, that can be accomplished by Associate Members, giving the specially trained Members more time for the Fire Fighting and First Response jobs.
Description of Associate Membership
- There will be a limit of twenty (20) Associate Members.
- Membership will require a 90-day probationary period and subject to a Drug Test.
- Membership will be approved by a 2/3 vote of the Active Membership.
- Associate Members will not be able to vote on Department matters unless they are elected to a Department Office.
- All members are required to put in 4 hours per month of work or training.
- The associate members will form a committee and meet quarterly to discuss matters with the chief of the department.
- Board meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Monday at 7:00 pm.
